Welcome to this course , Here you will learn about the Historical Masonry which has been widely used in the construction of Iconic Historical Monuments across the world . Masonry construction is one of the oldest method of construction traced back to the Agricultural age( 10000 BC) and had been integral part of the culture and architectural heritage of many old civilizations such as Indus valley, Mohenjo-daro , Egypt, Greek etc. The course also provides the knowledge about the various methods for material and mechanical characterization through destructive and non destructive testing. Course also provide a experimental based case study to test the effectiveness of the method by comparison of mechanical properties of the field removed specimens of existing masonry structure to the recreated masonry sub-assemblages in the lab which follows the method of characterization . This method could be used for restoration of historical monuments.
