Eurocode 2 , part 2 section J104.1 talks about edge sliding failure check for bearing which consider blanket 50%of vertical load acting laterally at the direction towards edge , this resulted in high nos horizontal RC requirement just below the bearing . Anyone found similar requirements in other codes ?
